Premature Plate Wear
Premature Plate Wear - Image area disappears or begins to break apart before expected. If the image is broken up or missing on the plate, it is considered plate wear. If the image is on the plate, but does not accept ink, it is plate blinding. Unfortunately, with premature plate wear, you will have to make a new plate.

Remedies
Fountain solution pH is too acidic
Reduce amount of concentrate or switch to less acidic solution.
Fountain solution conductivity is too low
Remix solution to raise conductivity.
Excess cylinder and roller pressure
Check and set all pressures.
Contaminated water
Use RO or distilled water.
Poor plate exposure
Use the manufacturer's recommended plate exposure scale.
